Class Descriptions:
Pilates Sculpt-
Blends Pilates and yoga principles (primarily Pilates) and some traditional strength training exercises with emphasis on the core. You will develop strength, flexibility and improve posture. May include the use of equipment (stability balls, light weights, glides or resistance bands) to challenge your deep and superficial muscles. You name it- you feel it! Promotes mind-body-breath connection focused on quality movements. Great class to sculpt your body as a whole. Some Pilates experience necessary.
Power Yoga-
A vigorous flow based class. May include inversions such as hand stand, forearm stand or back bend encouraging you to move at your own pace and listen to your body. Environment offers you to explore poses with a playful mindset with modification options. Includes core strengthening exercises ending with a relaxation pose leaving you feeling energized and restored. Students will become aware of their bodies as a whole and as single units developing strength and power. Some Yoga experience necessary.
YogAthlete-
Class incorporates various core conditioning exercises and flowing sequences emphasizing breathing and posture awareness working to bring your body back to balance and decrease the risk of injury. Class will include longer held poses to open hip and shoulders to release tension in the body. Designed for athletes, fitness buffs, or anyone with yoga experience wanting to gain core strength, balance and flexibility and release stress. May utilize the wall as a tool providing muscular feedback. Prepares you mentally and physically for sports and activities of daily living. All levels welcome.
We will resume YogAthlete in March!
All mind body classes focus on posture awareness and core breathing patterns to mindfully direct energy efficiently. Each yoga class begins with a breathing exercise to center and connect, includes abdominal work to stimulate the core, and ends with relaxation pose to regain mental clarity, promote calmness and rejuvenate.
Private yoga and Pilates sessions are available and designed to prepare you to participate in a group class with confidence and understanding of fundamentals.
